You should know:
Division I FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision) football has the highest number of scholarship players of any college sport and the NCAA allows football teams to add up to 25 new scholarship players to the roster every academic year. For teams in Division I FCS (Football Championship Subdivision) scholarships are limited to an amount equal to 63 full scholarships, but FCS schools are allowed to award partial scholarships as long as the total number of “counters” does not exceed 85. Division II schools can award partial scholarships and are limited to an amount equal to 36 full scholarships. All NAIA sports are equivalency sports whereas all Junior Colleges sports are headcount sports for scholarship limits. While Division I, II, NAIA and Junior Colleges offer football scholarships, Division III does not, but they do provide other financial aid/merit opportunities.
